Each SmartBox™ component is also portable and easily replaced. Contingencies are covered by mobile back-up systems and a built in resilient network fail over, guaranteeing that there is no disruption to the manufacturing process.
Hardware
The hardware is based on an Industrial PC architecture that provides industry standard components to suit the capacity for each process on a production line. The available models include:

The capacity for each process can be determined according to the inputs/outputs and can be mixed and matched dependent on the needs of a production line. For example, a simple process may only require 8 I/O, yet the next process in line may require 64 I/O. The mixing of hardware models does not cause any systems overhead, as the core components used are consistent across all models.
Connectivity can be via a number of different methods and protocols dependent on the sophistication and amount of data required to be passed between devices.
